“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord” Colossians 3:23

Class 3 - MOSI visit

Lesson: Science

Class: Class 3 Year: 2022 - 2023

Class 3 have enjoyed a great trip out to the Museum of Science and Industry.

We started the trip with the ‘Revolution Manchester’ show where children learnt about the industrial revolution in Manchester. We then explored the museum and got hands on with lots of different experiments.

We had three group sessions. The first was all about forces and flight, we found out about John Alcock who completed the first transatlantic flight in 1919. Children observed engaging experiments using upthrust, friction and gravity.

In our ‘Wonder of Light’ session, children found out that science can be used to create magical illusions. We used our knowledge of mirrors to clone a member of our class and create a scary headless illusion.

In our ‘Explosions’ session pupils checked the different properties of materials to see what would be a suitable fuel.
