Class 2 Sketch Local Buildings

Our new topic 'Buildings' has strong links to art, design and the geography of our local area. We went on a walk around the residential area close to our school and tried to find lots of different types of houses. The class learnt about detached, semi-detached, terraced houses and bungalows. They also saw a few of our own houses! We then chose our favourite house and sketched it. The children also looked at what materials the houses were made from. We noticed lots of houses in Bollington are made from stone, the others were made out of brick.
