Bee Week

Lesson: EYFS

Class: Class 1 Year: 2018 - 2019

Over the past week, the Reception children have enjoyed learning all about bees, their life cycles and their roles and how important they are to our environment.

To celebrate bee week we have baked honey flapjacks, made beeswax candles, painted a beautiful giant bee and made beeswax food wraps to link in with our support for the climate strikes on Friday.

We also welcomed Mr Beardmore in to school with a glass hive containing 10,000 bees. It was amazing to spot the queen, see the roles of the bees in action and even find the larvae inside each cell.

We have all learnt so much over the course of the week and the questions and writing that have also come from these experiences have been amazing.
