Today we carried out an investigation to try and free the dinosaurs from their frozen eggs.

We focused on two important words, freeze and melt. We now understand that water can be frozen to make ice and we predicted that we would need to warm the ice up in order to melt it. 

Today we used a pipette to drop warm water over our ice eggs and free our dinosaurs. 

We discussed why the water would need to be warm, how the ice changed and what would happen if we put the water back into the freezer.
