Reception Class Chicks

Class: Class 1 Year: 2018 - 2019

We are excitedly tracking the progress of our chicken eggs. We have ordered their growth, watched videos of how the embryo grows inside and candled the eggs to check for embryo development.

The children have labelled the parts inside an egg and are confident with recognising the blood vessels, air sac, embryo, yolk and shell. 

We were all really excited to see the tiny embryo during the candling process, it wriggled close to the shell and we were able to spot the eye and air sac clearly. We will compare the growth when we recandle them this week. 

UPDATE

We now have four beautiful chicks, all safely hatched.
