Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Class 2 Year: 2023 - 2024

Class 2 learned the numbers one to ten in Mandarin and made some lanterns and dragons to celebrate Lunar/Chinese New Year. 

Reception learnt all about the Chinese Emperor and how the zodiac calendar was created. We wrote our names and numbers 1-10 in Mandarin.

Everyone enjoyed learning about the traditions of this festival and we compared it to the celebrations that happen at Diwali and Christmas.

We made lanterns and tasted lycees and fortune cookies.
