Coke and Mentos

Class: Class 3 Year: 2019 - 2020

As part of our IPC topic 'Active Planet' children have been researching states of matter. Children created an enquiry based on their learning so far. Class 3 asked the question 'Do mentos react with all fizzy drinks?'

We designed a fair test to answer this question. Children kept all variables such as temperature and number of mentos the same. The only variable that changed was the type of liquid. 

Class 3 discovered that mentos did react to all the fizzy drinks we chose however, diet drinks create a larger reaction.
