Children's Mental Health Week

Lesson: PSHE and citizenship

Class: Class 4 Year: 2024 - 2025

This week all classes will be exploring Children's Mental Health Week.

The juniors started the week with an assembly, introducing this year's theme- Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.

The Reception children enjoyed a lesson on Grounding. We read the book 'All About Worries and Fears' and focused on the different ways we can calm ourselves down. We practiced deep breathing, meditation and sharing things that we enjoy doing to relax.

Class 2 have been learning about mental health; what it is, why it's important and what we can do to help our mental health. We made posters to uncover the things we can do to help our mental health.

Class 3 produced some beautiful art work inspired by this year's theme for Children's Mental Health week, 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself'. The week exists to empower, equip and give a voice to all children and young people, encouraging them to kow who they are and help build resilience. The artwork helped the children to focus on self awareness and those experiences in their lives which have made them unique.

Class 4 have been creating artwork linked to the theme. We have made our own art based on plants- the roots representing the things that have shaped us and the plant representing who we are and how we look after our own wellbeing. They also took part in the Great Big Live Assembly on Tuesday morning.
