Chicks Hatching

Class: Class 1 Year: 2021 - 2022

It has been a very busy week in Reception as both our bluetit chicks and our chickens have hatched just one day apart! 

We are lucky enough to have a camera set up in a nesting box just outside the classroom and we can see at least 8 tiny chicks in the nest and two very busy bluetit parents!

All of our chicken eggs were set to hatch this morning with two hatching in front of the children during the day.

It was incredible to watch; with the chicks starting with a tiny pip in the shell to finally emerging after several hours of hard work! 

We look forward to the rest of the brood hatching and then our hard work of caring for these chicks really begins!
