EYFS Bridge Challenge

The children were set a challenge as part of our week looking at the story of The Billy Goats Gruff.

After researching a range of bridge designs the children only had paper straws, tape and elastic bands to create their bridges. 

The challenge involved the children working as a team to build a bridge that would hold the weight of our class bear, Barney.

The bridges that succeeded were then tested to see how much weight they could carry before breaking.

We overcame the difficulties of fiddly materials and design issues to create 3 great bridges and some excellent experiences of working within a team. 

The winning bridge held 2750g!
