Discovery Centre Visit
On Wednesday afternoon some of our Parliament ministers visited the Discovery Centre in Bollington for a special war memorial exhibition, with displays of personal memorabilia from a local soldier.
The children saw telegrams and notifications from Buckingham Palace about tragic loss of life.
They were particularly interested in the exhibit of a silver spoon, which was found in a uniform pocket, and which prevented a piece of shrapnel from entering the soldier's body, thus saving his life.
There were also lots of interesting photos to see of both the Bollington and Kerridge war memorials.
