Mummifying an Orange

Lesson: History

Class: Class 3 Year: 2020 - 2021

Today children got to apply their learning about Ancient Egyptian mummies. Children followed the process that Ancient Egyptian priests used to mummify a body to mummify an orange.

Children first washed the orange using white wine vinegar. Next, they made an incision on the left-hand side of their orange before removing the insides. Children then applied herbs and spices to make the orange smell nice. Children used natron to stuff the orange and dry the insides. We finally wrapped the orange in bandages.
